Speed Dating, as a single word, is a registered trademark of Aish Ha Torah.

Speed dating, as two separate words, is often used as a generic term for similar events.

Start off by making sure everyone knows what 'speed dating' means.

There are 14 character cards (you will need to make more if you have a larger class); 7 girls and 7 guys.

Step 2: Reconfigure the desks in the classroom into a long line.

The male superheroes will sit on one side and the female characters on the other. (e.g., 30 students—15 male & 15 female cards) Procedure Step 1: Divide the class into small groups.

The lesson plan that follows requires students to imagine that they are a caped crusader attending a party with other superheroes.

The learners create an original profile for their character and discuss this information in a speed dating session.

If there is a match, contact information is forwarded to both parties.Over four days in London this week (Jan 21-24) principals from 165 schools will meet with around 650 prospective teacher candidates, approximately 50 per cent of whom will be hired. It lasted about 40 minutes with me, and that will depend on the size of your class, ability, etc.The students seem to enjoy it, and it is a good way to expose them to multiple prompts, keep them focused and engaged, cut down on the sheer quantity of papers you are grading.(The lesson and links/printables I’m including are intended to be used with an AP Language and Composition class but can easily be adapted to fit your needs.)Here’s how it works: Students are seated in rows and prompts are distributed.I prepare mine ahead of time with room for each step of the process provided under the prompt (see above), but you don’t have to do that.
