Dating abuse does not discriminate – it does not see gender, sexual identity, economic status, ethnicity, or religious preference. Other times they learn it from friends or popular culture.
Teens and young adults experience the same types of abuse in relationships as adults. No matter where it’s learned, it’s not ok and it’s never justified.
Dating violence is a pattern of abusive behaviors used to exert power and control over a dating partner.
Calling dating violence a pattern doesn’t mean the first instance of abuse is not dating violence.
Professors can add to their students’ learning experience by requesting an in-class presentation and we will even come to a Registered Student Organization’s meeting, too!

Relationship abuse is the use of intimidation and/or force by one person to maintain power over another.
It can include any form of verbal, emotional, mental, physical spiritual and/or sexual abuse or violence, and can happen in all types of relationships.
The Human Options Teen Ambassador Program, a new addition to our community education services, seeks curious and passionate teens who want to better their communities and prevent dating violence by serving as peer-to-peer mentors.
